Dinner for One and a Two...
I might of got a bit lazy. I got lost during creative hours. It was heading past nine o'clock and now I'm hungry. Didn't want to cook so I got some sweet n sour chicken. It came in a frozen box. It cost about three bucks on sale. The General Tso's Chicken, I had it before. It was alright at the moment.
Now I don't have anything against frozen vegetables as a rule. Fresh is best but I still get them too. I don't think French cut string beans are suppose to be in Sweet n Sour Chicken. Are they? My girl said they could be green peppers. We couldn't tell. Everything taste the same, even the rice. This isn't the kind of product that inspires you to read the ingredients while eating it. But what happened to the sliced carrots?
You can clearly see them but you don't really taste them. How can I describe the texture? I know that carrots don't have a gum base. In conclusion, you spit out the first one and also the second try and then bypass the rest. I was hungry. It was late.
I did find one real piece of chicken breaded like the other, wink, wink, pieces of breaded chicken. The real one you had to chew. (Believe me, you had to spit out the carrots.) The rest of the chicken, wink, wink, pieces just had a juicy squish. It was like that chewing gum that squirts but ok to swallow. Something like that.
Stick with the General Tso's Chicken. It has less chicken squish.....when it's on sale.
The next night, however, I had a more sophisticated meal. It was chicken again but this time it came in a plastic bag. Vacuum seal bag's for two stuffed boneless breast. They were plenty big for a portion. A size that makes you want to eat more because it's all right there and cost five bucks for two on sale. They say to bake it in the oven. It cooked very well up top in less time. It runs no matter where you cook it. I hold it together with tooth picks because it'll unravel and runs less.
Vegetables from a plastic bag were also served. The god given steamables came into my life. They're best when it's only one kind and not a fancy mix. They'll never get broccoli down. Potatoes are a toss up but otherwise god bless steamables. It was green beans we had and enough for two. After dinner I had three chocolate cookies.
