Not For The Faint Of Heart

Not a feint of the heart

 Reflections from a mirror

is it on purpose I see you everyday
is it on purpose to turn up this way
I can only look but I could never say
what is the purpose to end the day

why the inspiration if only from a glance
why should I be careful I haven't a chance
while I'm still swirling in this circumstance
temptation calls for caution but won't take a stance

The Allure of Singapore

 HELLO!

It's nice that you all dropped by for a visit. It got me on Google to update my general knowledge of your home. I was soon drawn to what music is popular and spent hours on YouTube listening to the variety of Traditional Music to Heavy Metal. Then it struck me. Where's the Country Music?
I found some music and some written pages about one or two, maybe three people, the same people. I didn't find any young faces. It seems to be a fading style of music from past decades.
I want to try something because it's worth knowing. I could not find any lyrical translations of your music to see what you sing about and how you say it. Our cultures are different and more concerning then the things we agree upon. It's best to be respectful.
I'm a songwriter much more so than a singer/musician. "Here We Go Again" is a Country song with a good beat and humor. You musicians at home are welcome to play it your way if it strikes you to do so.

Would my lyrics be too suggestive or offensive at home?

Respectfully
Roman

SHOW ME YOUR HANDS!!!

Palms down

I saw the circle on her finger so I knew where to stop
my thoughts are automatic and never stop
it all became a jigsaw puzzle one piece at a time
one part creation and one part enjoying the time

inspiration takes me further than what reality knows
it stirs deep waters only creation knows
it's a scripted secret that came to life on its own
it's a life where the heart is on loan, not owned

The Flow of Water 2

Big Green Block

Description: Stormwater management and streetscape
improvements around Shissler Recreation Center.
Partners: Philadelphia Department of Recreation, Fairmount Park,
PHS, NKCDC, PWD and Mural Arts Program
Status: Plans being finalized. Construction to be completed by
PHS and NKCDC components by September 2010.

Shissler Recreation Center continued the path of rooting conservation in Fishtown. Its ball field changed from dirt and cinders to lush green grass. The stormwater streetscapes opened more green space. It inspired the community to add some artful design along Blair Street.
The art, in the form of two murals, represents "Impressions of the Delaware" and the flow of the water. Thousands of tiles were used to create this mural. Some tiles have printed words related to water and the names of known and unknown creeks. It's something to explore and fun for kids to find.
The painted mural covers the full length of the parking lot wall continuing the flow of water.
Attractive large glass tiles highlight this mural. Let the flow inspire the community.

Four Poems

 -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Breaking the silence no one else will hear
the silence of words never to appear
you listen to the time of night
I listen to what I might say
have it both ways knowing no way
a secret is safe outside a poem

I haven't bought any flowers, just cigarettes
Flowers are unhealthy, best left in a garden
Bouquets change from day to day
just for fun, just forget nights of burning cigarettes
enjoy the silence

lost beliefs found me wanting more
no sacrement to answer or prayer to implore
I'm losing and lost yet I'm on the right side
it sides with feelings disguised as hearts
disguised as art
frightened hearts

the tide left the shore long ago
the stars that shined fade their glow
my island made of brick, concrete and stone
what kept me warm now keeps me cold
playwrights create a new role, add them on as he goes
which ever story you chose
that one held your soul

The Flow of Water

 Fishtown's Big Green Block

A Model of Green Stormwater Infrastructure began in 2008 with the inclusion of art to express the role of water conservation. Only one small section of a mural that stretched from Frankford Ave to Front St remains. Three separate outstanding murals disappeared due to new construction and one of which, I'll never understand why, was painted over. Two lengths of titled pavement that represented the flow of water remains mostly intact whereas, other sections  have very little, if any, remaining tiles.  This area was known as the Norris Passage.
All of the stormwater infrastructure remains in place along Norris St, Blair St, Columbia and Thompson St and the Hetzel & Adaire stormwater tree trenches etc.
The full scale project map, the Columbia Corridor Resource Map, runs from Front and Norris St to Penn Treaty Park which also includes from York to Columbia. Viewing this 2009 map will show 14 environmental projects. Take note, when you look, as to how much has been fulfilled.
New art started on the Norris/Trenton wall which is planned to be completed by May's Kensington Derby & Art Festival. It will also inspire the need for conservation. The full vision will be very welcomed.
Here's a look from yesterday and today of the past art work and a new beginning on Norris St.
Next I'll cover the Shissler Playground/Blair St Project or in the mean time take a walk and see it all for yourself and don't forget to read the fine print.

why was this painted over?
anyone know the missing ending words?
