The meteorologist predicted heavy rain and thunder storms in Philadelphia for today. A huge storm front was moving up from across the country that covered much of the South and Central USA into the Northeast and beyond. The weather radar presented an ominous picture as it tracked the storm.
The lucky part was that our temperature would soar upward to 60 degrees Fahrenheit or 16 degrees Celsius. Thank goodness that it was not freezing weather or we would be buried in snow.
That huge storm somehow missed us altogether and it turned out to be a very beautiful day of rolling clouds.
I attended a family affair to celebrate a triple Christening in the early afternoon. We drove up Interstate 95 North which opens up the sky for all to see. It was a sight to behold. It's seldom to see such a display of clouds that stretched across the sky in any direction you look. Yes, I had my camera and took pictures as we rode the highway. Yes. I had my imagination in focus too.
I though it would be funny if God made us, the departed, drive a car on a highway to Heaven. It would give us pause to think about how we behaved on Earth while driving on a bumpy highway with road construction, traffic jams and detours to face our own judgement and God's final word.
This would be a road to carefully ride so not to crash into anything and safely complete our journey.
These are the pictures that drove my imagination.
Happy New Year
