Fishtown Public Art 2020

The wait is over

The last time I approached this subject was back in 2013 as gentrification began to overshadow the "artist phase" in Fishtown. I wrote two different articles for "theartblog": Public Art That Vanished From Fishtown and a few months later A walking tour of Fishtowns public art along Frankford Avenue. Most of the art from the "walking tour" has since disappeared.
It took the next seven years for me to find the incentive and interest to start all over again. It was the lack of spontaneous public art or rather its absence that kept me away. And so in keeping with the times I present the newest art with a few older survivors. Things change.
