Fishtown: The Willingmyre Brothers Civil War Monument

Historic Palmer Cemetery

The Willingmyre Brothers Civil War Monument was dedcated and unveiled at Palmer Cemetery on September 29, 2013. Descendants of the family were present for the event. The Elm Tree Poat and a civil war re-enactment troop served as the Color Guard.

  1. The full set of pictures captured the day. I wish more people came to show their support for all the effort that was put into honoring the history of Fishtown. Thanks for sharing these pictures and preserving the moment for all to see.

  2. I agree with the other posted comment. You do know how to tell a story with pictures and very few words. Maybe you should stick with this and curb the other stories like Pet Patrol. That post angered pet lovers and I am one of them. I have to admitt I laughed when I though about the Book of Oxymorons and Tilapia. Pet lovers have strong feelings and may not appreciate the humor. You have two beautiful post, Opium and Pardon My French (I ran it through a translator). The range of your post make me wonder if you are more than one person or if you're very creative or if you have bi-polar moments. So what's next?

  3. You did a great job documenting this. I agree with the person who said it would be nice if more people had attended, but scheduling it for 11:00 am on a Sunday morning was not a good time if they wanted community participation
